SHORT POEM
NOT WORTHY WORD, WORTHY PEARL
by Ujjal Halder

Lament of exiled poets,
Intoxicated pets’ smirk
Echoes word to words
Healed by the fountain of serene words.
The holy worldly
Disgrace daily,
Plucking and throwing
Dry hopes with roots.
Desert mind waits for the next turn;
Eternal sky vase is shimmering
Tonight and beyond.
A golden ruling cloud
Denies vagueness
And never bestows golden blessing.
Empty eyes are praying for flint
And punctual promise of crystal visionaries
As worthy pearls.
