Before inspiring a writing idea this brings up memory from 1990s when I volunteered for a while at the zoo in city where I lived at the time; they had peacocks wandering around the grounds and they would display their tail feathers while making their calls. Memory isn’t recalling how much or not they interacted with people visiting.

They are real beauties to watch when they show off a full-spread of feathers! And the peculiar sound of shaking tail feathers is unique too. I haven’t seen them interact much with people though.
