You feel there’s something wrong with you.
A few stitches are missing.
A pearl,
dropped,
from your knitting.
A teeny tiny tear,
so well hidden.
But you know it’s there.
This hole is leaking out your stuffing.
Misgivings,

Ruth Broome lives in the UK countryside with her husband, two cats, a dog and two semi-permanent young adult children attempting to find their way in the world. She started writing around 12 months ago when on her many walks with her dog, poems began writing themselves in her head. She has recently won her first poetry competition and has had her first poem accepted for publication.

Largely inspired by nature she encounters on her walks, Ruth’s work investigates and seeks to capture the plethora of human emotional responses caused by different situations and stimuli. She hopes to convey unspeakable truths that lie outside the realms of quotidian human discourse.
