SHORT POEM

LIVING IN THE CONDITIONAL
by Casey Bottono

Disorganised thoughts

Worry rumbling
If this, then what?
I wrestle control of my mind
By coming home to the breath.

Right here, in this breath
There is no danger
This moment, and the next
Let ‘later’ be later.

Fireworks in the mind
Disorganised thoughts
Clamour for attention
Nothing I can solve
And yet, I try.
