SHORT POEMS

TAN-RENGA
by Christina Chin & Paul Callus

A white owl on a snowy moonlit night
snow
on the bare branches
a white barn owl

the beguiling silence
of a moonlit night

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

clear water
in a lotus pond
winter charm

nelumbo bracelet dangles
on a slender wrist

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

silence broken
by a falling pin
waiting room

the midwife smiles
— it’s a boy
