SHORT POEM
WITH
by Craig Matsu-Pissot

this deep-seated fear
revealed again and again more deeply
with each opening to...
it’s not trying to scare or push away
it’s beckoning in
it’s not asking to be fixed or made sense of
it’s beckoning in
it’s not a barrier
it’s an inn by the side of the road
as if of night
a passing place
not for sleeping but for awakening
a place of gnosis and of knowing
filled with pungent tastes and smells
a place asking simply to be
for now
companioned
it’s beckoning in
