When dreams come true: An unexpected moment of poetic delight

Try and catch dreams, and they keep flying away.

But pause, let your soul breathe, and they alight on you like a delicate butterfly… a touch of joy, more precious in its transience.

How precious are those dreams that come alive when we least expect them to? I think, a lot, lot more than others!

Never Stop Dreaming

A long while ago when google plus was a thriving meeting place for like minded poets, I remember having a conversation with one of my friends, a poet par excellence who taught me a lot of what I know about poetry. We shared visions of a dream when our poetry will be taught to students. He would surely bag a place in a university’s curriculum but my dreams were simpler. I just wanted school students to be reading my poems.

In my country, we are often told as children to be careful of our thoughts. The universe hears whatever we send out into the voids and works hard to bring it to us. I guess it really is true!

Yesterday, a teacher on twitter asked me if he could use one of my poems to teach his ninth grade students. I’m just glad my eyes didn’t pop out on to my phone!!

Of course, I am delighted and feeling on top of the world. I might not have made the regular curriculum yet, but it is not any less an honour to be thought worthy enough for students.

Stars in my eyes… sending up a prayer to God for all the blessings that I have in my life!
